Rudolph "Rudy" Cicchetti, 85, of Metuchen, passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison on Sunday, October 7, 2012.
Rudy was born in New York City and was the son of the late Elizabeth and Donato Cicchetti. He moved to Metuchen 38 years ago.
Rudy served in the Army during WW II. He receive a BS Degree in Engineering from City College in NY in 1954. He was a Chemical Engineer with Merck and Squibb and later was Vice President of Engineering for Ayerst International Inc. He was a voracious reader and poker player and a stock market and cigar aficionado.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Nancy (Napolitano), to whom he was married for 40 years. They traveled the world together during marriage. He is also survived by his beloved canine companion, "Lucca," and numerous family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 10:15 am at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 followed by an 11:00 am Service of Requiem at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in the Churchyard. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center.
