Ruby Lean (Hedgepeth) Alston, 74, of Perth Amboy passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Louisburg, North Carolina, Ruby had lived in Perth Amboy for the past 40 years. She was employed by Marine Electric, Passaic as a Welder before retiring.

Ruby was predeceased by her mother, Mable "Snoop" Hedgepeth, and her brother Charles Hedgepeth.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin Alston ("James Phillip Brown"); five children: Linda ("Cook") of Perth Amboy,NJ; Ray ("Book") of Perth Amboy, NJ; Francine ("Goo") of Newark, NJ; Lola of Newark, NJ; and Franklin Alston ("Pistol") of Perth Amboy, NJ; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 8pm Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave, Perth Amboy. Visitation will be from 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
