Roy William Anderson, 86, of Fords, passed peacefully on Monday October 10, 2011, at the Haven Hospice unit at the JFK Medical Center in Edison with his family at his side.
Roy was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has resided in Fords since 1985. He was an Electrician for 34 years with the PATH System before retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and the US Navy.
Roy is predeceased by his wife, Veronica, who died in 1988, and his son, Kevin, who died in May of 1987. He is survived by his four sons: Michael P. Anderson and his wife Cathleen of Pleasant Valley, NY, Kenneth Anderson of Fords, Roy William Anderson, Jr. of Hunterville, NC, and Timothy Anderson of Wrightstown, NJ; his daughter, Elizabeth Anderson of Edison; his four grandchildren: Jared, Julie, Sabrina, and Danielle; and his sister, Dolores Murphy of Sicklersville, NJ.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords NJ 08863. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
