Ronald Robert Ernish Jr., 58, of Fords, NJ passed away suddenly at home on August 17, 2013. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, on June 3, 1955. Also known as "RJ," he graduated from Woodbridge High School & the University of Colorado at Boulder where he earned a degree in Architecture. He was the owner/architect of Edge Designs. Ron designed & built one of the first skateboard parks in the U.S. and he was the founder of E & H Wallboard Skateboards. Ron was an avid skier, surfer, a longtime member of the Rumson Hashers and a devoted fan of Bruce Springsteen.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Olsen; his grandfathers, Oscar Powell Lawrence & Anthony Ernish; and grandmother, Sophie Ernish.
Ron is survived by his devoted grandmother, Margaret "Babe" Lawrence of Fords, NJ; his father, Ronald Ernish & stepmother Mary Evelyn of Brielle, NJ; his Aunt, Jacqueline Knowles & Uncle James of Hillsborough, NJ; his sister, Christine Gavin & husband Michael of Edison, NJ; sister, Janet Dahl & husband Norman of Branford, CT; brother, Brett Ernish & wife Renee of Ocean, NJ; sister, Elizabeth Pindulic & husband Allen of Bergenfield, NJ; brother, Edward Ernish of Brielle, NJ; his nieces: Deidre Helfrich, Sydney Dahl & Emerson Ernish; and his nephews: Matthew Gavin & Sawyer Ernish along with many loving cousins & friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 from 11:00am-1:00pm with a service at 1:00 with Msgr. Andrew Szaroleta.
