Ronald
Anderson
July 14, 1942 – October 11, 2024
We are sad to announce the passing of Ronald "Denny" Anderson on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Ron was born in Newark, but grew up and was a life-long resident of Perth Amboy. After his graduation from St. Mary's High School, he attended Ohio University, then to Monmouth University where he obtained his Master's Degree in Education. He spent the majority of his 42-year teaching career in Perth Amboy High School where he taught physics and photography.
Being a teacher was more than a job to Ron. It was a huge part of his life. He continuously went out of his way for his students. Every kid was important. He would often go "outside the box" once in a while to drive home a lesson the way his students would understand. His physics classes even had class sweatshirts! Photography was so much more than a hobby. He loved sharing this passion with the kids in school as well as when he did some wedding photography. Any of his students would tell you how Mr. Anderson took the time to pay attention to their need to learn, and was enthusiastic when it came to sharing his knowledge with them.
Aside from his life at school, and doing wedding photography, Ron also owned and operated Anderson Roofing for several years. However, he also had a comical sense of humor, being tagged as the family "jokester." If there was a joke or prank being played you can pretty much count on it came from Ron. He was also a lover of classic cars and even owned one or two over the years.
Later on, Ron purchased a shore house in Chadwick Beach. It was where he spent the better part of his later years. He enjoyed the great friends he made in the neighborhood and loved being "down the shore."
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Elmer "Buddy" Anderson, and his sister Connie Vincent. He is survived by his daughters Jane and Kelly Anderson; granddaughter Nicole Pinho, and special friend Mary Jane Quinones.
His spirit will live on in the memories of all his students whose lives he touched, his dear friends, and loving family.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. There will be a prayer service for Ron at 3:00pm. Cremation will take place privately. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Ron's memory to the Alzheimer's Association. (https://act.alz.org/donate).
