Romone Jose Torres, 45, of Perth Amboy, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2024, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.  Romone was the first-born son of Terry Bridges Sr and Chetekia M. Heard, on June 9, 1978. He grew up in Perth Amboy and everyone around him from a young age to his most recent coworkers loved him.  Romone was a stand-out basketball player for the Perth Amboy Vo-Tec Basketball Team. He enjoyed cooking and watching his favorite football team, the Giants.  Romone's favorite food was crab legs, he enjoyed cooking them and especially eating them.  He earned his associate degree at Berkley College and went on to work at IHOP, in Colonia, as a General Manager for the past 13 years.

Romone was predeceased by his grandparents, Willie and Mattie Heard.

He is survived by his mother, Chetekia M. Heard and his father, Terry Bridges, Sr.; his brothers, Aajahn Johnson and Terry Bridges, Jr.; his sisters, Lakeya Bridges and Paradise Bridges; Keithina, who was like a sister to him; Keith, who was like brother; and his girlfriend, Lisa Boyd. Romone loved his mother very much and thanks all of his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM followed by interment in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
