With heavy hearts we share the passing of Robin Povolotsky, 66, of Edison, New Jersey. Robin died peacefully at home on July 6, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family.

Robin was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. The third daughter to parents John and Marie Meitzner. In 1975, Robin welcomed the first of her three children - Stephanie. Amy in 1978 and Jerry in 1983. She was a stay at home mom until 1984. In 1987, Robin and her kids moved to Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Robin worked different jobs before ultimately becoming a teacher in the infant room at Lightbridge Academy. She shared so much joy in shaping the lives of her babies. She created bonds that will last a lifetime with her babies, parents and coworkers who became lifelong friends.

In 1997, she earned a new title - Nana!  Nicolette became her brightest light and she enjoyed doing all the Grandma things. These included dance recitals, soccer games, and softball tournaments. She started watching college softball and her favorite team to watch was the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2019, Jaxon made her a Nana for the second time and it brought her immense joy to be able to care for him.   She loved watching him grow during his first year!   After moving, she looked forward to their nightly FaceTime calls to hear all about days at school and seeing his new favorite toys.

Robin enjoyed summer beach trips, Sunday drives, drives to Disney with three young kids and many summer days at Great Adventure and Sesame Place when Nicolette was little. She loved Christmas and always made it extra special for her family!

When there were no more babies to care for, she enjoyed trips to Hobby Lobby, sitting on the back porch overlooking her garden (leading to a collection of all things gnome!) and spending afternoons with her sister, Debby.  She treasured the recent visits with her loving friends and family!

Robin is survived by her three children; Stephanie and son-in-law Lenny, Amy, and Jerry and daughter-in-law Kerri; her granddaughter Nicolette; grandson Jaxon; her sister and brother-in-law Debby and Rick DeHeer; along with her nephew Chris and his family, niece Sarah and her family and many friends!

Robin is predeceased by her parents John and Marie Meitzner; brother John (Butchie) Meitzner; sister Karin Weaver; and her fiancé John F. Ely.

A private cremation will be held and a celebration of life honoring Robin will take place for her family and friends.
