Robert C
Viquerat
June 19, 1928 – April 30, 2025
Mr. Robert C. Viquerat passed away peacefully at Hackensack Meridian/JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was just a month shy of his 97th birthday.
A lifelong resident of Metuchen, Robert was the son of the late Charles Kraft Viquerat and Augusta Viquerat. He was a 1947 graduate of Metuchen High School. He also attended Pace University in New York for a short time, but was called away to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Not long after his return from his military service Robert was out roller skating with friends, and met a lovely woman by the name of Margaret Wilcox who on June 29, 1957 became his bride. They were blessed with one son, Mark. Robert was employed by White – Westinghouse in Edison for over 40 years in the accounting department.
During their 67 years of marriage, Robert and Margaret were quite the sports enthusiasts. They enjoyed many outings to enjoy biking, skiing, tennis, and running. They quipped that they had an opportunity to enjoy most sports, except they never got out to try golf. They were also "history buffs;" visiting historical sites on some of their trips and vacations. At home, they were avid gardeners. Robert was often seen at the local farmers markets with some of his vegetables and blueberries. He could also be seen quite frequently at the Metuchen YMCA, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 65, Metuchen. He and his family were also members of the Reformed Church of Metuchen.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Vivyanne Morris. He is survived by his dear wife Margaret, son Mark and his wife Cathy, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Services are entrusted to the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, Metuchen.
