Robert Thompson, 93, of Colonia, passed away on October 15, 2016, at Raritan Bay Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1923, in Perth Amboy. Robert was a retired Deputy Police Chief from Woodbridge TWP. He was a graduate of the F.B.I.  Academy and served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge and active in the Danish Home in Edison.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Thompson, in 2004.

He is survived by a sister, Catherine Slocum, of NJ; sister-in-law, Ellen Bourquin, of NY; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863, Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, 10 am at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Edison. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
