Robert C. Peterson, 82, of Perth Amboy passed on April 20, 2012, at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison surrounded by his family. Born in Perth Amboy, Bob was a lifetime resident. He retired in 1996 after 11 years as a laborer for the City of Perth Amboy.

Bob was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church and had served as the church Sexton. He was a member of the Perth Amboy Seniors, Captain of the Billiards Team, and was an avid bowler. His favorite sports teams were the Giants and Yankees. Bob also served his country as a Marine during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by six sisters and two brothers. Bob is survived by his wife, Carol (Lauritsen), of 57 years; his six children: Lori Bender and son-in-law, Paul of Avenel, Robert A. Peterson and daughter-in-law, Valerie, of Somerset, Edward H. Peterson of Edison, Karl J. Peterson and daughter-in-law, Therese Steen, of NYC, Gerald W. Peterson and fiancé, Lynne Rieger, of Bound Brook, and Christian A. Peterson and fiancé, Nichole Allegri; five grandchildren: Neil Bender, Amy Abdel-Malek, Melissa Peterson, Edward H. Peterson, Jr., and Nicholas J. Peterson; three great-grandchildren: Elisha, Devin, and Dylan; a brother, Arthur Peterson, of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, followed by private cremation. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 24, from 1:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 600 New Brunswick Ave., Perth Amboy, on Sunday May 13, 2012 at 1:00PM.
