Robert Charles Merrifield, 87, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.

He was a retired painter and later a Taxi Cab Driver for many years with Shorty's Taxi Service of Perth Amboy

He enjoyed shooting pool and going to freehold raceway.

He was predeceased by his parents; William and Sarah (English) Merrifield, his beloved son Carmen Merrifield, and his four brothers; Leon Alfred Jack and William Merrifield.

Robert leaves behind his beloved son, Larry Merrifield, and his wife, Mary of Hamilton NJ, and his daughter; Joann Yannone and her husband, Nicholas of Manahawkin, 4 grandchildren; Nicole, Dominick, Marc, and Brooke, 2 great-grandchildren; Annaliese and Aiden, also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Due to the covid-19 crisis, a private funeral is scheduled with the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery.
