Robert J. Kolbus Sr., 84, of Metuchen passed away at his home on Monday July 3rd. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on October 13, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Kolbus. Robert graduated from Metuchen High School and was a Rutgers University alumnus. He was
drafted into the U.S. Army in 1964 and served as a Military Police Officer. He started off his career as a Patrolman with the Metuchen Police Department and retired as Detective Sergeant. While serving with the Police Department, Robert obtained his Bachelor's Degree. Robert was a
member of the Metuchen Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time on the farm in New York State and he was a N.Y. Giants fan. Robert was also a past State Delegate for Metuchen P.BA. Local #60. At a young age, he proudly joined the Metuchen Fire Department.

Left to cherish his memory are his immediate family, wife Carol Lee Kolbus, son Robert Kolbus, Jr. and daughter Barbara Kolbus. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and friend of many years, Peter Clausen.
