Robert A.
Kilsby
September 3, 1946 – October 23, 2023
Robert A. "Bob" Kilsby, lost his long-time struggle with his health on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York.
Bob was born and raised a Staten Islander. The son of the late Joseph and Helen Kilsby, Bob was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. In 1968 he married the love of his life, the former Eva Krambach, and they were blessed with two wonderful children, Joseph and Christina. He joined the NYPD and served his community out of the 122nd and 71st Precincts. After his retirement from the NYPD in the mid 1980's, he embarked on his own trucking businesses owning both EMK Trucking and Bob Kilsby and Son Trucking. While living in Perth Amboy for over 30 years, they kept a summer home in Ocean Gate to be able to take the time to enjoy boating, fishing, and crabbing. They also shared their time together when they were able to travel and spend time in Florida.
Bob was handy with anything he tackled, especially working on motors and enjoyed going to car shows. While Bob was a proud veteran of the military and the NYPD, his most important trait was being a family man. His family was above all to him. He enjoyed BBQ's, fireworks and family get-togethers. Those closest to him will remember him as the father, grandfather, and brother who was funny, always had a smile and a joke and loved a good time. But he was the kindest, most giving man who was always positive, always have a hug for you, and tremendous inner strength. He was the protector, and watched over those he loved (and always will).
He will be missed beyond measure by his beloved wife of 55 years, Eva; his son, Joseph and daughter-in-law Kathy,; daughter, Christina Wright and son-in-law Kevin; grandson, Jayme Kilsby, his wife, Kayt Lynn Anne; granddaughter, Kellie; sister, Mary Green; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who he loved very much.
