Robert "Bob" Halbert, 77, of Tinton Falls, passed peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Brandywine Senior Living at Wall. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, was formerly of Perth Amboy and Woodbridge, and had resided in Tinton Falls for the last fifteen years. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a construction worker and a member of the Laborer's Union Local # 77 of Jamesburg. Prior to that he had been a car salesman for Amboy Ford. Bob was avid N.Y. Yankees fan, enjoyed playing cards with his friends, visiting Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, George and Emilie Halbert, his former wife, Ellen and his dear brother, Kenneth.
He leaves behind his son, Craig Halbert of Apopka, FL, his brother, Ronald Halbert and his wife, Marie of Woodbridge, and his sister, Virginia Minion of Sea Girt and several nieces and nephews, including, Kimberly Lamberto of Oceanport, Brett Kalesky of London, England, Lori Halbert of Woodbridge, and Todd Halbert of Cherry Hill.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
Visitation will be on Friday, morning only from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
