Grandjean, Jr.
March 19, 1951 – March 31, 2023
Robert E. Grandjean, Jr., 72, of East Brunswick, passed away at home on March 31, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born in East Orange to the late Robert E. and Olga L. Grandjean, Bob was a resident of Rahway until 1980 before moving to Edison with his family until finally settling in East Brunswick in 2014. He attended Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN and also attended the Institute for Financial Education. He was employed in the banking industry for the majority of his career, and ultimately retired as a Compliance Officer for MetLife Bank in Edison. In his free time, he was a member of the Rotary Club in Roselle and served as President, he was active in the PTO at James Monroe Elementary School in Edison, and was a Chairperson for the March of Dimes Middlesex County Walk for several years in which he received the Franklin Award. Bob was also an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge in which he was a Choir member, served on the Vestry, and was Parish Treasurer.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn Grandjean, his brother Edward Grandjean, his brother-in-law Donald L. Selingo, Sr., and his dog Baroness. Bob is survived by his daughter Catherine A. Kenney, her husband John and his two grandsons Colin Grandjean and Wyatt Kenney. He will be fondly remembered by his two sisters Dorothy Grandjean Smith and her partner John Cardillo, and Arlene Selingo. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, where Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 10:15am and processing to Trinity Episcopal Church, 650 Rahway Ave., Woodbridge for an 11:00am Funeral Liturgy. Interment will immediately follow in the Trinity Episcopal Churchyard.
