Robert James Foley, 79, of Fords entered into enternal rest on Saturday, May 29, 2010, from his home. He has resided in Fords for the last 56 years.

Mr. Foley was an iron worker for Local 11 in Newark, New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was an avid gardner and lover of animals.

Surviving family members include his beloved wife of 58 years, Edith (nee DeAndelis) Foley. He was a devoted father to his children, John Foley and his wife Debra of Waterford Works, NJ; Barbara Urban of Pennington, NJ; and Thomas Foley of Las Vegas, NV. Loving grandfather of Michael Urban, Jr., Catherine Urban, and Autumn and April Foley; beloved great-grandfather of Aiden Robert. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Elizabeth Foley of Gwyedd, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 4, at 9:45 am from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, followed by a 10:45 Funeral Liturgy at St. Lucy's Church in Newark. Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
