Obituary of Richard A Pinter


Richard A. Pinter, 80, of Fords, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at his home. Mr. Pinter was born in Perth Amboy to the late Stephen and Elizabeth Pinter and had lived all of his life in Fords. He was employed with Exxon in Florham Park as a research and development manager for thirty-four years before retiring in 1998.

Richard was a life member of the Fords Fire Company #1 serving over sixty-two years. He served as Fire chief in 1982. He was a member of the United Exempts and the United Firemen's Relief Association of Keasbey, Fords and Hopelawn. He was also a life member of the Woodbridge Township Fire Officers Association and the New Jersey State Firemen's Association. Richard also served as a Fire Commissioner with the Fords Fire Company for many years. He was a member of the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy, life member of the South Amboy Elks Lodge 784 and was past President of the Fords Bearcats Football League and the Fords-Clara Barton Little Leage. Mr. Pinter was predeceased by a son Martin Feeney and a brother Donald Pinter Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, of thirty-seven years, Linda Pinter, his two daughters, Janine Bauer and her husband Danny of Fords and Nicole Nebus and her husband Gary Jr. of Fords, four grandchildren, Daniel and Nicholas Bauer, Michael Hamilton and Jackson Nebus.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 11:00 am mass in the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Pert Amboy. Entombment will follow in the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The Fords Fire Company will hold services at 7:30 pm Tuesday 6/6/23.
