Richard John Moczynski, age 57, of Edison, died on April 14, 2010, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, he has lived in the area for over 30 years.
Mr. Moczynski was a self-employed Attorney, and a member of the Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey Bars. He has practiced law for the last 33 years. He had worked with Laurel Legal Services in Greensburg, PA. His work led him to especially serve as a champion for the underprivileged. Mr. Moczynski was also a recipient of the Reginald Heber Award. As a boating enthusiast throughout his life, Mr. Moczynski had sailed extensively all around the world. He was also an avid Mets fan. He also was a member of American Legion Clara Barton Post 324, Edison.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Pfeiffer Moczynski, in March and his father, John, in 1993. Mr Moczynski is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Vincz Moczynski; his sister, Lynn Catanese and her husband Peter of Washington Twp.; and two nephews, David and Daniel.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, where services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway.
