Richard J. Delmar, age 88 of East Windsor, died on Saturday at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor. He was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Hingham, MA before moving back to New Jersey in 1986.
Richard retired in 1984 as Vice President of State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston. Previously he had been employed at Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, NJ and Boston, MA.
He was a member of the Rutgers Alumni Association and the Raritan Yacht Club. He entered the US Navy as a Seaman and rose to Commander serving during WWII, the Korean Conflict and also serving in the Naval Reserve.
Surviving are his wife, Helen M. Nygaard Delmar, his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard K. and Janice Delmar of Arlington, VA and William J. "Chip" and Kimberley Delmar of Moorestown, NJ, his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary D. and Subra Suresh of Wellsley, MA and Clare D. and Brian Lynch of London, England and he is the beloved "Da" of 8 grandchildren.
