Rene De La Cruz, 92, of Perth Amboy, passed away on February 26, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1923, in Placetas, Cuba. Rene was the President and owner of Bertrand Market Distributors in Perth Amboy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Olga Martinez De La Cruz; a son, Rene Delacruz and his wife, Monica, of Matawan; daughter, Lurdes Garcia, of Florida; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Fredesvina "Freddy" Cruz, of Miami, and Orelia Martin, of North Bergan.
Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861, on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will begin, Tuesday 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima. Entombment will be in Alpine cemetery.
