Ramon Mejia Jr. 78, of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest, April 9, 2018 surrounded by family at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico and has resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Brooklyn in 1991.

Ramon worked in the Parks Department in New York City for 16 years before retiring in 2012.

He was predeceased by his former wife of 22 years Marcelina Soto who died in 2002.  His four sons Nelson, Roberto, Nicholas, and Ruben Roman are all deceased.  Ramon is survived by his 3 daughters Maria Mejia Gonzalez of Perth Amboy and Maritza Garcia of Ocean County, and Maritza Roman of Woodbridge, NJ, 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was adored by his great-granddaughter Jenylis Gonzalez.  Later, he spent 20 years with his former partner Carmen Vasquez who died in 2013, and they shared 4 granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy.  Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm
