Rafael Baez, 78, of Carteret, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020, at home surrounded by family. He was born in the Dominican Republic on July 26, 1942.  He resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Carteret; Rafael was a Machine Operator at Edison Foam. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Rafael was predeceased by his parents, Raul Hernandez and Emma Baez.

He is survived by his wife, Ada Baez (Hernandez); eight children: Juan Baez and his wife, Catalina Baez; Altagracia Baez and her husband, Amado Lopez; Maria M. Baez and her husband, Martin Marte,;Ada M. Baez; Ambioris R. Baez and his wife, Nidia Acosta; Deivi Baez and his wife, Anny Baez; Yanny Baez and his wife, Carmen Collado; and Yesenia Baez and her husband, Darinel Batista; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.  Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Stephen's Church, 490 State Street, Perth Amboy.
