Phyllis Safran, 98, of Long Branch, died at home on October 23, 2011.
Born in Trenton on January 4, 1913, she resided in Long Branch for the last 40 years. Prior to Long Branch, she lived in Perth Amboy for many years. Phyllis was a homemaker and was a very active supporter of Temple Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ira Wolf Safran, in 1985. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hermanos and her husband Robert of Manhattan; her son, Henry W. Safran and his wife Ordell of London; five grandchildren: Stephen, Ellen, Bill, Peter, and Tad; two great-grandchildren: Ansel and Lulu; and a dear friend of 26 years, Patricia Booth.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 11:00 am at Temple Beth Mordecai Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.
