Phyllis C. (Rosato) Karoly, 83, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, at Tallwoods Care Center in Bayville, New Jersey.

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Phyllis dedicated much of her working life to serving others as a secretary and scheduler for the Visiting Nurse Association in Keyport.

Phyllis knew how to enjoy life and make the most of every opportunity. She was an avid Bingo enthusiast who was always on the lookout for a game. She loved traveling, shopping, and discovering new adventures. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her beloved dogs. The memories she created with those she loved will forever be treasured.

Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband, James J. Karoly, her son, Michael Matullo and her brother, Kenneth Rosato.

She leaves behind her loving family, including her daughters, Gina and her husband, Robert Moser, and Jamie Martelli; her sons, Anthony Matullo and his wife, Debra, and James Karoly and his wife, Lori; and her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Matullo. She was a cherished grandmother to Kristin, Caitlyn, Brianna, Christopher, Alyssa, Samantha, Shannon, Jacob, Nicholas, Julianna, Anthony, and Madison, and a proud great-grandmother to Sophia, Dom, Kayden, Mia, Vincent, and Mason. Her family was the center of her world, and her love will continue to live on through the many generations she leaves behind.

Cremation was private. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, New Jersey. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hopelawn.

Phyllis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
