Philip Charles Taglianetti, Sr., age 74, of Edison, NJ, was called home by God, on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at JFK Medical Center. Born on January 29, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, Phil was the oldest son born of the late Rocco and Caroline (Morlano) Taglianetti. Phil met the love of his life, Angela, at age 15 and together they built a beautiful life. He served his country during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 where he was awarded the Purple Heart and received the Army Commendation Medal.
Phil was predeceased by his sister, Maria Catalano and brother, Dennis Taglianetti.
He is survived by his wife, Angela, of 53 years to whom he was a devoted husband. He is beloved father of Darlene (Taglianetti) Marino and Philip Charles Taglianetti, Jr. and their spouses, David Marino and Amanda (Fazio) Taglianetti. He is the cherished Poppy of Brianna, Steven and Gianna; the loving brother of Alan Taglianetti; the uncle to several nieces and nephews; the cousin and friend to many. Anyone lucky enough to have met Phil loved him and were better for having known him.
Services for the immediate family under the direction of Aliotta Funeral home will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 9:00 am at the funeral home. A public Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 am at St. Helena's Church, 950 Grove Avenue, Edison, NJ 08820. Cremation will be private.
