Philip (Phil) DiPetta passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old. Phil was born on August 18, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in Verona, New Jersey and later resided in Fords, New Jersey. Phil retired as a Lieutenant, but spent many years as a Correctional Officer working in East Jersey State Prison. He loved playing and coaching baseball and was a devoted Yankee fan. His greatest joy was his family and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother, Rachel DiPetta, and aunt, Rosalie Petrizzo.
Surviving are his father, Peter S. DiPetta, of Verona; brothers, Peter A. DiPetta, of Verona, and James DiPetta, of Arizona; an aunt, Jane Petrizzo, of Jersey City; loving wife of 31 years, Linda (Murawski) DiPetta; daughters: Helene Mamazza and her husband, Aaron, of Wrightstown, Janet Wisniowski and her husband, Paul Rutigliano, of Fords and Angela DiPetta and fiancé, Steve Sepa, of Woodbridge; six adored grandchildren: Leighla Patitucci, Orion Galya, Vincent Rutigliano, Aidan Mamazza, AnnaJane O'Neill, and Robert Mamazza; and many other wonderful family and friends.
Per Phil's wishes, a final farewell will be held at Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863 on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, concluding with a 1:45 pm Funeral Service, with Rev. Sean Winters officiating. A private cremation service will follow.
