Obituary

Peter Tackach, 76, of Frenchtown, passed away at home on April 3, 2012. Before his move to Frenchtown in 1980, he lived in South Plainfield.

Prior to his retirement, Peter was a platform worker for Hmieleski Trucking in South Plainfield. He was a member of the Teamsters #469 and the American Legion in Flemington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse racing, and his pets. Peter attended St. Leo's Prep School in St. Leo, Florida, where he received awards in basketball and track and field.

Peter was predeceased by his wife, Arlene Tackach; his son, Douglas Tackach; and his brothers, Edward and Joseph Tackach.

He is survived by his daughters: Catherine Tackach of Piscataway, Teresa Norci of Notrthampton, PA, and Donna Tackach of Edison; his son, John Tackach and his wife Michele of Middlesex; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; a niece; three nephews; and his companion of thirty years, Vera Primeau.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Saturday, April 7 at 8:30 am followed by a 9:00 am Blessing at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
