Peter G. Quilla, 80, of Fords died September 5, 2011, at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born in Union City, Peter has resided in Fords since 1974. For 46 years, he was the Owner and Mechanic of the Village Texaco Service Station in Jersey City.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords, a member of the NJ Gasoline Retailers Association, and an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan.
Peter was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lillian and Emma. He is survived by is wife of 54 years, Anna (Blank); his sons, Peter Jr. and his wife Barbara of Perth Amboy,
Tom and his wife Fredrica of Wilmington, NY, and
Charles of Fords; his daughter, Theresa Saraniero and her husband John of Long Pond, PA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 8:30 AM from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 9:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday and Friday, September 8 & 9 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM.
