Pedro Mendez, 95, of Perth Amboy, passed away at home on May 3, 2021. He was born in Placetas, Cuba, on July 91, 1925. Pedro emigrated from Cuba in 1968 to be reunited with his family in Perth Amboy. He was an employee for the family business, Tropical Cheese, in Perth Amboy. He was an avid baseball fan.

Pedro was predeceased by four sisters: Carmen Mendez-Rodriguez, Estrella Mendez-Barrueta, Adela Mendez-Monestina, and Concepcion Mendez.

He is survived by two brothers, Rafael Mendez, of Miami Beach, FL; and Rufino Mendez, of Hialeah, FL.; five nephews: Luis Mendez, Albert Mendez, Joaquin Mendez, Pelayo Mendez, and Francisco Monestina; three nieces: Carmen Rodriguez-Mendez, Lisette Mendez-Lopez, and Vanessa Mendez-Gamez.

Visitation will be on Thursday 6-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ. 08861. Funeral services will begin Friday 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Perth Amboy. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
