In Loving Memory of Paula Cruz Padilla
October 20, 1932 – November 10, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Paula Cruz Padilla, age 93, of Carteret, New Jersey. Paula entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2025, at Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Born on October 20, 1932, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Paula built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and dedication. After making Carteret her home in 1966, she proudly devoted many years of her career to the Lumured Handbag Company in Perth Amboy, where her talent, precision, and expertise shone through in every piece she created. Her remarkable craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail earned her the admiration and respect of her colleagues. Through her artistry and hard work, Paula helped bring style and beauty to countless lives—one finely made handbag at a time.

A devoted communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Perth Amboy, Paula's unwavering faith guided her every step. She will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and the quiet strength that inspired all who knew her. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking—a true reflection of her generous spirit.

Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband, Agustín Cruz (2005), her cherished daughter Ana María Rodríguez, and several dear siblings.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love through her children: Mildred Rodríguez of Florida, Lucretia Rodríguez of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ivette Rodríguez of Carteret, and José Cruz of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her brother, Cecelio Padilla of Puerto Rico; an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Paula's family was her greatest joy, and her memory will live on in each of their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paula's life during visitation on (day, date, and time), followed by a funeral service at (time) at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ. Entombment will follow at Alpine Cemetery Mausoleum, Perth Amboy, NJ.

A visitation will take place on Thursday morning only, November 20, 2025 from 10 AM until 12 noon at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home. It will be immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 noon with Msgr. John Gordon officiating.

Entombment will be in the Alpine Cemetery Mausoleum.
