Paul Peter Pcolar, 90 of Edison, passed away on February 7, 2013, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Ambridge, PA, which is on the banks of the Ohio River, he resided in Edison for 64 years. Paul grew up during a time of depression and war. He served his country in both the Civilian Conservation Corps and the US Army during the WWII era, first as a military policeman guarding German prisoners and later helping with wounded and combat stress victims returning from Normandy and other European battlefields. He worked as a Head Custodian for the Edison Township Public Schools for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
Paul was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Edison Senior Citizens, Disabled American Veterans Edison Chapter 52, and participated for 24 years at San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch.
He is predeceased by brothers, George and Michael, and a sister, Mary Antonuk. Paul was a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather to Helen (Dudics), to whom he was married for 63 years; his daughter, Emily Bisio and her husband Joseph of Plainsboro; and grandson, Roland Bisio, of Plainsboro. He made our lives better, we love and will miss him.
Funeral services will be 9:15 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, with a 10 AM funeral liturgy at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
