Obituary

Paul J. Noone, 85, of Brick, New Jersey, passed away on April 23, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center.  Born in Pittston, PA, he came to New Jersey in 1952, residing in Hillside and Roselle Park before raising his family in Iselin, then retiring to the Poconos before moving to Brick.  Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone he met.  He was a member of St. Dominic's R. C. Church in Brick.  Paul worked as a Postal Clerk for the Iselin Post Office for 28 years.  He proudly served his country in the Army during the Cold War in the Counter Intelligence Corps.

Paul was very athletic and played most sports competitively.  He enjoyed shooting baskets and throwing the football around with his grandsons and sons all the way through his final days and still skied and played softball in the Noone-Burke Family Picnics into his 80's.  He also enjoyed going on long walks up to 2 miles or more at a very fast pace that would leave most people in the dust.  He took extreme pride in watching his grandsons play youth sports and High School Baseball.

Paul had a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and family along with a firm understanding of what was most important – the simplicity of living a life surrounded by those you love.  He loved visiting family and friends and traveling around country, especially in the RV with his wife.  In his later years he spent his free time watching various sports games live and on TV, especially Tennis.  He was an avid Notre Dame and also a Penn State fan and loved eating pizza with a Pepsi (no Coke) and having ice cream every night.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Beverly in 2008; and his three brothers, Joseph, Robert and William.  Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul Noone and daughter-in-law Christine of Branchburg, and Gary Noone of Phillipsburg; his grandsons, Patrick and Sean; along with his brother Donald; his sisters, Mary Angela Amaniera, Mary Loretta Sonntag, and Catherine Korsant, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A special thank you to the staff at Ocean Medical in Brick for their loving care and support during his final days.  Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude toward Flynn Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Private services have been entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.
