Paul B
Coleman
February 11, 1934 – February 14, 2025
Paul B. Coleman, (91) of Edison, passed away peacefully at his home during the early morning hours of Friday, February 14, 2025 with his family by his side.
Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Paul was raised in Fords where he attended Our Lady of Peace School and Woodbridge High School.
He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1954. Stationed in Camp LeJeune, he earned the rank of Sergeant. His time in the Marines forever shaped him as a man and he carried the title of Former Marine proudly and with honor.
Paul spent his career in the Pipe Fitters Union in HVAC service, eventually working as a service manager and commercial estimator.
His devotion to service and his community was unparalleled. He was a charter member of the Clara Barton First Aid Squad, a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9199, Our Lady of Peace Holy Name Society, and Adjutant of the Marine Corps League, Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard Detachment where he served for over 35 years in many capacities including running the annual Toys for Tots donation efforts. He was a member of American Legion, Edison Seniors, Edison Social Club, and a trustee of Our Lady of Peace Church, where he was a lifelong parishioner.
Paul's generous heart and abundant talents led him to many volunteer programs and projects as well as to many a friends doorstep. He was a man to show-up and help, often with his tools. You could always count on Paul.
His warm heart was rivaled only by his silly, playful humor. He was so much fun to be around. He loved his Tuesday breakfasts with the guys, was a master bread baker, loved old-time country music, old cars, old movies, and family dinners.
His love for family and friends filled him deeply and he shared his feelings freely – he left nothing unsaid. The pride he felt for his grandchildren was barely contained. He was the very model of what a good man should be in all ways.
He is predeceased by his parents Bernard and Anna and his brother Joseph. He is survived by the love of his live and wife of 66 years, Lois (nee Langan); his children Teri (Brian), Paul (Barbara) and Linda; his grandchildren Matthew, Stephen, Maeve, and Claire and many loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm – 9:00pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords where funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 19th . A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Fords. Cremation will take place privately. Paul's cremated remains will be placed in the Brig. General William C.
