Paul O. Burgdorf, 94, of Menlo Park Terrace, passed away on February 4, 2017 at his home.

Born in Throgs Neck, Queens, he resided in Menlo Park Terrace for 60 years.

After graduating from Georgia Tech University in 1949, he entered the US Navy during WWII. After serving in the Navy, Paul went back to college and received his B.S. degree in Industrial Management. In 1950, he worked as a Loss Control Consultant with Employer Group Insurance. In 1952 he went to work for Anheuser Busch for 16 years, developing Safety Rules and Safety Training. In 1968 Paul worked as a Safety Engineer for Revlon.

Paul was dedicated to Food and Beverage industry. In 1974 he took a corporate position at M&M Mars, which included responsibilities for Industrial Hygiene, OSHA Safety Regulations, and many other safety areas.

Paul had a love for sailing, reading and breakfast with the guys.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jane (Storminger) in 2001.

Surviving is his daughter, Bonnie of Menlo Park Terrace and his beloved dog Sadie.

Viewing will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 3-7 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Cremation will be private.
