Obituary

Patricia R. (nee: Galindo) Lund, 70, of Edison, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the JFK Medical Center, Edison.  Born on Staten Island, NY, she had been a lifelong resident of Edison.

She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Rudolph Lund; her daughter, Tamara Lund of Edison; her son, Michael Lund and his wife, Claudia, of Jersey City; her granddaughter, Lilyanna; her sister, Phyllis Moyle, of North Brunswick; and her brother, Michael Galindo and his wife, Laurie, of Jackson. Also surviving are two nieces, two nephews and two great nieces.

Trecia, as she was known by family and friends, was born on October 4, 1950, to her loving parents, Raymond and Phyllis Galindo. Raised in Edison, NJ, with her sister and brother, Trecia's parents instilled in her the values of a loving family, along with the kindness and compassion that would guide her throughout her life.

Trecia came into this world not long after her sister Phyllis, and they've been inseparable ever since. Whether it was a day trip to the Jersey Shore, a weekend trip to Atlantic City or just singing their favorite songs together, Trecia and Phyllis were more than sisters. They were best friends with a bond that will last forever.

Trecia and Phyllis were not alone, of course. Along with their younger brother Michael, the three siblings have shared a lifetime of memories, and their bond continued to grow throughout the years.

In 1971, Trecia met the love of her life, Smokey, and they would spend the next 49 years together. They were soulmates, and together they built a marriage, family and home that was filled with love and laughter. Theirs was a love so strong it made other people smile.  It was obvious they were made for each.

Trecia was not only a wife, sister and daughter, but she was also a loving mother to her two children, Tammy and Michael. Love cannot even begin to describe the unbreakable bond Trecia shared with her children as she nurtured and guided them throughout their own lives. She was the absolute center of the family.

Trecia's greatest pride, however, was no doubt her granddaughter, Lily.  Trecia wanted nothing more than to be a grandmother. That wish came true in 2010 and she couldn't have been happier welcoming her only grandchild.

In addition to her immediate family, Trecia had a large extended family that returned just as much love as she gave.  Her nieces Pamela and Victoria and her fiance, Brian, her nephews Roy and Ray, her great nieces Emily and Isabella, her cousin Jerry and his wife Terry, and their children Jerry and Melanie, her cousin Luann and her husband Ruben, her daughter in-law Claudia, her in-laws Danny, Patti, Laurie, Liz, Ted, Carol, Don, Eileen, Kim, Mike, Stacy, Sal, Miguel and Noemy, and everyone in and out of her family felt her love and kindness at some point.

Trecia always had a smile on her face and would do anything she could to help others. She was caring and compassionate. She was friends with everyone and put nothing but love into the world.

Trecia loved to cook and bake, especially Christmas cookies with Lily. Her stuffed cabbage, potato salad, and pasta sauce were legendary.  She loved arts and crafts, puzzles, music and day trips with family.

She was a gentle soul and she has left us too soon.  She will be missed but she will also be loved forever.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin on Friday December 4, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.
