Pamela Clay Hedberg, born May 6, 1957, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pamela was born in Warren, Ohio, and raised in Niles, Ohio, by her devoted parents, George T. Clay, Jr. and Margaret Clay. She married her beloved husband, Daniel W. Hedberg, on August 25, 1979. Together, they raised their cherished children Stephen Daniel Woglom Hedberg, Joshua David Winston Hedberg (Nati), Rachel Nicole Hedberg Ries (Tim), and Kristen Margaret Hedberg. She was also the proud grandmother of Makayla, Haley, Morgan, Audrey, Emma, Hannah, Chloe, and Wesley. Pamela is survived by her twin sister, Patricia Poarch, and her brothers Russell and Glenn Clay. She was predeceased by her daughter Kristen Margaret, her parents George and Margaret Clay, her father-in-law Reverend Winston Palmer Hedberg, her nephew Bronson Alexander Poarch, and her brother-in-law Randy Poarch.
Pamela's life was marked by dedication and service. She graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1975 and earned a B.A. in Biblical Literature from Northeastern Bible College in 1980. Her professional journey included owning and operating Hedberg's Christian Book Store, working as an office administrator at Greenbriar Architectural Woodwork, and serving as a scholarships administrator for Middlesex College. Her community involvement extended to volunteering as a trustee for the Former Perth Amboy Public Library.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Fitzgerald and the staff at Regional Cancer Care Associates for their compassionate care throughout Pamela's illness.
A memorial service will be held at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Solutions Health and Pregnancy Center, 837 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702.
Pamela's legacy of faith, love, and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished.
