Obituary

Owen Ravino of Keasbey died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on October 11, 2026. He was 90.

Born in Dorchester, MA and raised in Massachusetts, Owen was a long-time resident of Keasbey. He was a Corpsman in the Army from 1958 to 1960. Graduate of St. Michael’s Prep School in Conesus, NY, Owen graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science. He was a Molecular Biologist for Merck in Rahway and was a health inspector for the Middlesex Health Department and part-time with the Woodbridge Health Department.

Avid Red Sox fan, Owen was a Boy Scout counselor, coin collector and member of the Professional Coin Graders Association. Owen was a Lector at Holy Spirit Church and currently a parishioner of St. James Church in Woodbridge.

Owen is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine (Bonczek); son, Allan Ravino of Woodbridge; grandchildren: Joseph and his wife Gabriela, Anthony and his wife Stephanie, and Ryan Ravino; beloved great grandchildren: Sebastian and Augustine; sister-in-law Eileen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: George, Joseph, Gerald, Robert; sister, Philomena, and daughter-in-law Lorraine; sister-in-law Joanne and her husband Thomas Dyson.

Family and friends may visit at Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 9:30 am with a funeral liturgy at St. James R.C. Church, 369 Amboy Ave., Woodbridge at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hopelawn.
