Norman S. Semel of Edison, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 80, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and devotion.

Born and raised in Newark, he resided in Edison for the past 47 years. Norman graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Accounting. He was a self-employed accountant in Edison.

A true lover of sports, Norman enjoyed playing tennis, coaching his sons' soccer teams, volunteering at the U.S. Open, and watching all sport on TV. Above all, he adored his family, especially his grandsons, who lovingly called him "Babu." He was great with children-whether playing games, singing songs, or just making them laugh, Norman brought joy to every moment they shared.

Norman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carole Semel; his sons Lee H. Semel and Matthew L. Semel with his wife, Marla; and his beloved grandsons, Wesley and Colin.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 1 PM at Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, Metuchen. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.   The family will be receiving mourners from 12:30 PM until the time of service.
