Naida D. Peterson passed away on June 16, 2011, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. She was 85.
A resident of Perth Amboy for 60 years, she was born in Greenville Junction, ME. Naida was a graduate of the Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing and a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, both in Perth Amboy. She had worked as a registered nurse at the old Perth Amboy General Hospital. After she left the hospital she did some private duty nursing on her own.
Naida was preceded in death by her husband Gerald H. Peterson in 1982; her brother, Wayne Sullivan who died during WW II; and sister, Ruth Hopkins.
She is survived by her son Warren S. Peterson and his wife Amee of Kingston, NY; sister, Dorothy Sprague of Killingworth, CT; brother, William Sullivan of Shirley, ME; and grandchildren, Sarah R. and Scott G. Peterson of Kingston, NY.
Friends may call at the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ, on Saturday July 9, 2011, from 11: 00 a.m. until the time of the services at 12:00 noon. Cremation will follow privately.
