Muriel R. Kjersgaard, 87, of Perth Amboy, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023. She was born on July 29, 1935 in Bronx, New York. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, James Kjersgaard, a son, Christian Kjersgaard, a brother, Robert Skinner, and a sister, Gloria Pishna. She is survived by her two daughters, Andrea Matthews, of Avenel, and Nancy Billig, and her husband, Ross, of Perth Amboy, a son, Jason Kjersgaard
of Avenel; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Brandon, Madison, Tristan, and Marin; four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Alana, Oliver, and Stella.

Muriel was a long term resident of Perth Amboy for over 60 years. She was a devout catholic and parishioner at the Good Shepherd, and was active with the Holy Trinity Ladies Slovak Association. Muriel was truly a kindred spirit who loved her family, and was loved by them equally.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 13, 2023, 6-8 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Friday 9:30 am, at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Holy Rosary Church. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
