Morton R. Kaufman, 92, of Fanwood, passed away on April 21, 2015. Born March 12, 1923, in Newark, he formerly resided in Metuchen, Edison, and Boyton Beach, FL. He retired in 1991 as a Senior Partner of Kaufman, Diamond & Company in Edison. He was a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Municipal Accountant.

Morty served as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, Class of '47. He was a member of Temple Neve Shalom and the B'nai Brith. He was a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He was the Past President and Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Metuchen and was a member of the Metuchen Senior Citizens Commission.  Morty was a Democratic Committeeman in Metuchen. He volunteered for Cancer Research of Coral Lakes in Florida. He also volunteered for JFK Hospital, Jewish Family Services, and Meals on Wheels.

Morty is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose Kaufman, of Fanwood; four children: Debra Kaufman of Westport, CT; Michael Kaufman of Chester, NJ; Lawrence Goldman and his wife, Cynthia, of Westfield, NJ; and Deborah Lubranski and her husband, Leon, of Scotch Plains, NJ; four grandchildren: Bethany and Andrew Goldman, and Daniel and Evan Lubranski; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. The family will receive mourners from 12 Noon- 1pm at Temple Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Services will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.

Contributions may be made in Morty's name to Cancer Research in Coral Lakes, Temple Neve Shalom, or the American Heart Association.
