Obituary

Millicent "Penny" Frankel, 93, of Metuchen, passed away at home on October 29, 2018. She was born in New York City on November 7, 1924. Penny was a bacteriologist for the E.R. Squibb and Sons and a Travel Agent for Campbell Travel. She was a graduate of Syracuse University. She enjoyed traveling, music, laughing, opera and dark Hershey chocolate bars with almonds.

Penny was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Frankel, in 2005 and a brother, Melvin Harrison.

She is survived by her family in which she took tremendous pride : her husband, Bernard 'Bud' Ackerman, of Metuchen; a brother, Howard Harrison, and his wife, Elizabeth Burns, of Cape Coral, FL; three children, Shari Gelber and her husband, Richard, of Brookline, MA; Edward Frankel, and his wife, Pam, of Lawrenceville; and Lynn Sones and her fiancé, Simon Glance, of Ottawa, Canada; 3 step-children, Terri Ackerman, and her husband, Stephen Ledoux, of Concord, MA; Sandra Ackerman, and her husband, Norman Keul, of Durham, NC and Howard Ackerman, and his wife, Erin Falk, of Great Falls, VA; 10 grandchildren: Mitchell, Scott, Lori, Amy, Harrison, Lionel, Jesse, Judith Ann, Meghan and Natalie; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were attended by the immediate family on Wednesday, October 31st.

A celebration of her life is being planned for a future date.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840.
