Mildred "Millie" Spampinato, of Matawan, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2012, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was 92 years old.
Millie was born and lived most of her life in Perth Amboy before moving to the Matawan section of Old Bridge 10 years ago. She was employed in Sales and Management by Sears Roebuck, Perth Amboy for 40 years before retiring. Millie was a former communicant of St. Mary RC Church in Perth Amboy for 80 years and was most recently a communicant of St. Lawrence RC Church in Laurence Harbor. Millie enjoyed word puzzles and was quick witted to the end. She will also be remembered for her generous nature and loving manner.
Millie was predeceased by her parents, Bartolo and Calcedona Spampinato; her brothers, Salvatore and Phil; and her sister, Mary Spampinato. She is survived by her cousins, Mark Kubinak and Paula Ferraro.
A funeral Liturgy will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at St. Lawrence RC Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 7:00-9:00 PM at FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
