Mildred J. Sisolak, 83, of Edison, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on January, 13, 2019. She was also known as Mimi, Mim and Millie by her family and friends. She was born in Perth Amboy on October 6, 1935. She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School (1953). Her first job, as a single woman, was at Prudential as a Secretary, where she took the train to and from Newark, NJ. After getting married to John Sisolak and having children, she became a stay-at-home wife and mom. When her three children grew up (John, Debbie and Patty), she took classes at Middlesex County College, had various office jobs and ended up at Raritan Bay Medical Center in the billing office as a Medicare/Medicaid billing clerk all while selling Avon and Popular Club.
She enjoyed long car rides with her husband, family vacations, going out to dinner, family barbeques, visiting her mom and her in-laws, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, baking, cooking, painting ceramics, attending her high school reunions, shopping (and more shopping), collecting porcelain dolls, playing bingo, going to the gym, playing the piano, spending time with family, friends, her grandchildren (Jamie, Jessica and Robby), her grandpups and her grandkitties.
Millie was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church in Perth Amboy. She sang in the choir, helped out at the thrift shop and various church events. She prayed for her family, her friends and the church members.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, John Sisolak in 1978. She is survived by one son, John Sisolak and his wife, Debbie Sisolak; two daughters: Debbie Gilman and Patty Sisolak; two granddaughters: Jamie VanOrden and Jessica Gilman; and her grandson, Robby Gilman.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 18, 2019, from 10am-12pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863 with a service at 12 noon with Rev. Dr. Benjamin Alicea-Lugo officiating. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery, 703 Amboy Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ. She will be buried next to her husband John Sisolak.
