Mildred
Kozal
April 23, 1926 – September 6, 2022
Mildred Kozal, 96, of Edison died Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Mildred was born in Trenton to the late John Jaworski and Mary Letkiewicz. Mildred was very proud of her town and represented the slogan, "What Trenton makes, the world takes." She was employed as an Executive Administrator Assistant for the State Capital in Trenton for many years before her retirement. After retiring, Mildred knew her calling was at home taking care of her family.
Mildred met and married the love of her life, Robert Kozal, in 1954. They were married 35 years before his passing. Mildred and Robert loved spending time together having endless conversations about life. She was a modest person, not needing material things. She was the type of person that would sacrifice everything for her family or anyone she loved, giving the shirt off her back if needed. Mildred was a remarkable mother and grandmother; her heart overflowed with love and kindness.
Mildred is predeceased by her sister and best friend, Claire "Clara" Borri (February 24, 2000), and her nephew, Philip Borri. Mildred also lost both of her brothers-in-law, Stanley Kozal, in January 2022, and Forman Kozal in February 2022. She mourned them deeply.
She is survived by her children: Peter Kozal, of Edison; Susan Johnson and husband, Harry, of Woodbridge; and David Kozal of Edison; her grandchild Robert William Johnson, of Edison; and her nieces, Pat and Ruth Borri, both of Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords.
Because of Mildred's love for children, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of your choosing.
