Mila P. Zabala, 68, of Fords, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on October 27, 2021, at home. Born in San Pablo Laguna, Philippines, she has lived in Fords for 31 years. Mila first worked as an Audit Supervisor in GHI Health Insurance, in the  NYC location for 25 over years before completing her professional career as a Unit Assistant in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy for 11 years, before retiring this year.

Mila enjoyed many activities such as cooking multiple dishes (including her famous ham and leche flan), caring for her plants, playing slot machines at the casino, singing karaoke, playing the piano and most importantly, playing with her granddaughter, Aela.

Mila was predeceased by her father, Sofronio Putungan and her brother, Alvaro Putungan.

Mila is survived by her husband of 33 years, Antonio "Tony" Zabala; her two sons, Thames Zabala and his wife, Krystel, and Jasper Zabala and his wife, Jan Alexa; a granddaughter, Aela; her mother, Concepcion; her brother, Neil; and her sisters, Edna, Thelma, Daisy, Anelin, Genalin and Alison.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 10 AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5-9 PM at the funeral home.
