It's with a heavy heart to announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many, Miguel B. Zamora Sr., 80 of Perth Amboy who passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Havana, Cuba, Miguel immigrated to the United States in 1980. He resided in Perth Amboy and Woodbridge, NJ for the remainder of his life.

Miguel is survived by his loving companion Hortencia Fuentes, his children Crescencio Fuentes, Diane Fuentes, Miguel B. Zamora III, Hortensia Zamora, his grandchildren Demi Mendez- Portillo, Jeramey Mendez, Shantell Fuentes, Victor Diaz, great granddaughter Desi Portillo, and his beloved dogs Zorro, Lily, Noah, and Louie.

He was a man with intense humor and wisdom. We want Miguel to be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted, loving, caring, protective companion, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Miguel enjoyed music, dancing and traveling. He is a pillar of strength and his absence leaves us with a void in our hearts. His unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.

Con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado padre, abuelo y amigo de muchos, Miguel B. Zamora Sr., de 80 años de Perth Amboy, quien falleció pacíficamente el 1 de enero de 2025 en su casa rodeado de su amorosa familia y amigos. Nacido en La Habana, Cuba, Miguel emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1980. Residió en Perth Amboy y Woodbridge, Nueva Jersey, por el resto de su vida.

A Miguel le sobreviven su amada compañera Hortencia Fuentes, sus hijos Crescencio Fuentes, Diane Fuentes, Miguel B. Zamora III, Hortensia Zamora, sus nietos Demi Méndez-Portillo, Jeramey Méndez, Shantell Fuentes, Víctor Díaz, su bisnieta Desi Portillo, y su querido perro Zorro, Lily, Noah, y Louie.

Era un hombre con un humor intenso y sabiduría. Queremos que Miguel sea recordado como un gran trabajador, un compañero, padre, abuelo y
amigo de todos dedicado, amoroso, cariñoso y protector. A Miguel le gustaba la música, bailar y viajar. Él es un pilar de fortaleza y su ausencia nos deja un vacío en el corazón. Su espíritu inquebrantable será recordado por siempre.

Friends may visit at Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, on Tuesday, January 7 from 3-7 pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 10:15 am at the funeral home and 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 380 Smith St., Perth Amboy. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
