Michael H. Zell, 63, of East Windsor, passed away at home on February 28, 2016.  Born in Jersey City and raised in Edison, he moved to Dayton before settling in East Windsor 12 years ago.  He was a Social Work Supervisor with the NJ Department of Corrections for 30 years before his retirement in 2010.  Michael received his undergraduate degree from Temple University, Class of 1974 and his Master's Degree from Yeshiva University in NY.  He enjoyed Bonsai trees and woodworking.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Daniel H. and Sally (Sydelle) Zell and his brother, Matthew Zell (2006).

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children: Adam Zell of Old Bridge, Mark Zell of Plainsboro and Amy Zell and her fiancé, Joshua Shamosh of Ocean; and his sister, Marcy Zell Lazar and her husband, Scott of Westfield.

A graveside service under the direction of Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Beth Mordecai Cemetery in Perth Amboy.  Shiva will be observed at Michael's residence in East Windsor, NJ, following burial on Tuesday and will also be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.  In addition, Shiva will also be held at the residence of Marcy Zell Lazar in Westfield on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-8 pm.
