Michael T. Oberdick, 85, of Metuchen, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2021. Born in Newark on July 14, 1936, Michael worked at Merck for 35 years, was a member of the Metuchen Elks, loved watching old movies, traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Michael was predeceased by daughter, Kathryn Rossi; grandson, Justin Cooper; sister, Patricia Young; and son-in-law, Gary Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Oberdick, of Metuchen; four daughters, Carol Lamberti, and her husband, Mike, of Metuchen; Janet Cooper, of Fords; Patricia Gardner, and her husband, Tony, of Edison; and Susan Meikle, and her husband, Herb, of East Brunswick; seven grandchildren: Nate, Richard, Jennifer, Matthew, Michael, Anthony, and Kathy; great-grandchildren, Greyson, Andrew, and Bella; brother, Neil Oberdick, and his wife, June, of Manahawkin, and sister, Jessie Claire Sweeley, of Baltimore, MD.

Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 2021, 4-8 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will be Friday 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Cremation is private.
