Michael A. Katz of Monroe, quietly passed away at Penn Med, Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, NJ on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the age of 75.

Born April 11, 1949 to Seymour and Roberta Sher Katz in Perth Amboy, Michael spent his life as a local businessman with far-reaching interests in government, politics, and social policy. He attended New York University prior to graduating with honors from Ohio University in 1975.  After returning to New Jersey, Michael spent most of his life living at the Shore while working at his family business, Middlesex Distributors, in Perth Amboy as a salesman, executive, and part-owner.

Upon his retirement in 2008 he fulfilled his dream by moving to Lahaina, Hawaii. He returned to New Jersey last year just before the horrendous Maui wildfires, as his health had begun to decline.  For years Michael maintained a website exploring constitutional issues in which he gained a following for his quick mind and intelligence.  The internet served him well as his chief vehicle of intellectual pursuit.

Michael will be sorely missed by his family; his two older brothers: Barry and Sandy Katz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be taking place privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, Fords.
